In March, the Remagen Bridge over the Rhine River was finally crossed but only at a high cost to Allied men which included Polish troops. 1945 was a monumental year in world history since it was a year of extremely important and dramatic events which shaped the world! In February, a secret meeting of Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin, the “Big Three”, was held at Yalta, and Poland was betrayed.
